Niki goes for a strong role

Niki Walia’s big return to the small screen after a decade with Star Plus’ show Dil Sambhal Jaa Zara has left the audience in awe. She said she was initially offered the role of Satrupa in Rishton Ka Chakravyuh, but decided to go with Dil Sambhal Jaa Zara. Niki says she has been waiting for the right script to help her break the image she created as Dr Simran in Astitva, 10 years ago.

“Satrupa’s role is beautifully crafted but when I was offered the role of Laila Raichand, I knew this was it. Laila Raichand is a rich, opportunist woman who will go to any extent to get what she wants. I fell in love with her immediately,” says Niki. She adds, “I thought Laila was more unlike me and rather challenging for me as an actress.”
