There is no way that you can pass by GT Road in sector-26, Chandigarh. And if you are thinking when did GT Road, fine dining come to the Tricity, well then you need to step into this barbeque, buffet and bar place that will transport you to the old world with a contemporary touch.

Right from the interiors, to the cutlery to the entire ambience GT Road offers a fine blend of new and old, of rustic and fresh. Shares Sukhdeep Singh Brar, managing partner who started this venture in November 2018, “we believe Chandigarh to be a food capital of the region. We have brought some authentic ensemble of dishes, some lost magical recipes of bygone era coupled with beautiful ambience. This place is all about the old world charm.”  

Talking about the authentic recipes the place offers chaat, from street food dahi bhalla, papdi chaat, kanji wada, palak patta chaat and bhelpuri. As you move your eyes on the menu, you’d find Paneer tikka from Amritsar, khumb chutneywale from Panipat, famous chicken tikka from Jalandhar, Surkh Jheenga from Amritsar, Chicken Burrah from Peshawar. Seekh Kabab from Lahore and Chilli fish from China Town Kolkatta. A little below, as you stop at the vegetarian corner, you’d see Timatar Rasila from Kanpur, Kabuli Chana Batata Dhaniya from Kanpur, Chukandar Tik ka Salad from Delhi, 8 different kinds of papad.  GT Road specialises in buffets, both veg and non-veg.

Apart from this, the place also boats of a private dining area for small parties and kitty parties. “In fact we have a special packages for kitty parties, for vegetarians it is Rs 499 from Monday-Saturday and Rs 599 for non-veg from Monday to Saturday. 

“The idea is to present authentic tastes to our customers. As the name suggests, GT Road has linked the Indian subcontinent with Central Asia, so we have tried to present the flavours of all the places,” adds Sukhdeep.  — TNS
