Viewers seem to be more interested in family comedy now than religious epics or family dramas. 

This return of the iconic show of 90s , Hum Paanch proves this. The show is back with a bang, with a new star-cast and a modern take of topical events and with an added suffix Hum Paanch phir se on Big Magic. 

Excited to lead the show, Sooraj Thappar who is essaying the character of Anand Mathur at the ongoing shoot in Jaipur, said, “There would be hardly anyone who has not watched the iconic show of 90’s, Hum Paanch. When I was offered to play the role of Anand Mathur in the series Hum Paanch Phir se, I thought it would be very difficult. Ashok Saraf did a fantastic job essaying the character of Anand Mathur. I am excited to be a part of this show and I am looking forward to entertain the viewers with my acting skills.” The show has a stellar star cast comprising of the talented actors - Sooraj Thappar as Anand Mathur, Seema Pandey as Bina Mathur, Vaishnavi Mcdonalds as Parikrama, Jayashree Venkataramanan as Kajal Bhai, Ambalika Sapra as Radhika, Rimi Shrivastav as Choti, Ruchi Tripathi as Meenakshi and Sylvia Chaddha as Sweety.

While, commenting on the launch of the new show, the spokesperson from the channel said, “As a part of our portfolio in the comedy space, we are bringing back the iconic show Hum Paanch with all new stellar star cast who excel in their respective characters in the show. The popular show’s intrinsic elements will be kept intact and the sequel Hum Paanch Phir Se will be a modern take on the sitcom.”

The show will air every Monday to Friday at 7:30pm on BIG Magic.
