Priyanka’s mom Madhu confirms Siddharth, Ishita''s wedding mutually called off

Priyanka Chopra’s brother Siddharth Chopra was all set to follow in his sister’s footsteps by getting married to Ishittaa Kumar by the end of April. 

However, the wedding has been called off. And, Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra has just confirmed this news via a news portal. 

Madhu said: "They (Siddharth and Ishita) have mutually called it off". But, she did not explain the reason behind the decision.

Earlier, reports had surfaced that the wedding was postponed as Ishittaa had to undergo an emergency surgery just days before the ceremony.

Ishittaa also shared a picture on Instagram from the hospital a week ago.  

She wrote: "Recovering from surgery. Very painful but glad it's over".

However, all was not well between the couple. 

Ishittaa posted another picture of herself at a resto-bar with a cryptic caption: "Cheers to new beginnings. With a goodbye kiss to beautiful endings."

Ishita's mother Nidhi Kumar reacted: "Close old book and write", whereas her father wrote: "We are with you; Feel the expanse of the universe and be the star you were born to be." Ishita had even shared pictures of her bridal shower last month, but has now taken them off her Instagram page.

In fact, some of the comments even dissed Siddharth. 

A comment read: "I think he was shit. You deserve better than him any day. You are strong and you will rise as you know how to live”.

Ishittaa and Siddharth's roka ceremony took place on February 27 and Priyanka even took to Instagram to congratulate the couple.The 'roka' picture on Priyanka and Siddharth's mother Madhu continues to be there.

Priyanka had come down for Siddharth and Ishita's 'roka' ceremony in Delhi in February with her American singer-actor husband Nick Jonas.
