For the first time, Ranbir Kapoor has reacted on Kangana Ranaut's allegations that he stays silent on political issues.
The actress had earlier, accused Ranbir of not speaking about 'public issues' and just being comfortable with his fame.
Asked about this at an event in the city, Ranbir said: "Whatever anyone’s asks me I do answer it. I don’t have any interest in giving answers to these questions. People can say whatever they want. I know who I am and what I say."
At the success party of ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’, Kangana had said: "I don’t have any intention to join politics or an election campaign of a political party. Many people feel that I want to enter politics but that’s not true”.
"There are few actors in our industry like Ranbir Kapoor where he has been seen talking in an interview that, we have regular supply of water and electricity at my home so, why should I comment about politics?’ But I feel because of this country’s people you are living in your luxurious home and you are travelling in your Mercedes so, how can you talk like that? This is irresponsible behaviour and I am not that kind of person," she added.
After a while, Kangana even expressed her anger against Ranbir Kapoor's girlfriend Alia for not standing by her during the release of her film, ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’.
Alia had a very dignified response to all the allegations and had said: "I hope she doesn’t dislike me. I don’t think I have done anything intentionally to upset her and if I have then I will apologise to her on a personal level”.
“But, I have always said this that I have admired her a lot as an actor and as a person and she is very outspoken. It takes tremendous courage to be that way and I was not aware of this problem or anything. So, what can I say, I don’t want to upset anybody."
On the work front, Ranbir was last seen in ‘Sanju’, which crossed Rs 300 crore at the box office. He will next be seen in ‘Bhramastra’ opposite girlfriend Alia Bhatt.
