A bad job
Mungda
Mungda, which has been recreated for Total Dhamaal, got bashed by netizens left, right and centre. They could not stand the fact that the makers ruined Helen’s song and how. One user went on to term the song as a ‘toilet remix’. Even singer Usha Mangeshkar, who has sung the original Mungda says, “Our songs were created after a great deal of thought and they were done with sensitivity and care. To rip them off in this arbitrary manner is not correct.”
An inferior version
Poster Lagwa Do Bazar Mein
Poster Lagwa Do Bazar Mein has been recreated for Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon for their upcoming film Lukka Chupi. The original track is from Akshay Kumar’s movie Aflatoon. While several Twitterati called it ‘disappointing’, one user wrote, “Bollywood itself is ruining its nicest 90’s songs. please stop it already.. #PosterLagwaDo”
Good song, bad copy
Chamma Chamma
How can one forget the latkas and jhatkas of Urmila Matondkar in Chamma Chamma in the movie China Gate! The foot tapping number got a revamped version in the recently released Fraud Saiyyan, starring Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla. And it was an absolute ‘No… No…’.
Not good enough
Ek Do Teen
The song that shot Madhuri Dixit into the limelight, Ek Do Teen from the movie Tezaab was recreated for Baaghi 2. Although Jacqueline Fernandez tried her level best to match up to the expectations, but no one can replace the expressions and moves of our Dhak Dhak girl. The remix received good amount of listeners until it came down to comparing it with the original version.
What a waste
Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas
Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, this beautiful song was originally sung by Kishore Kumar for Blackmail. It was also rehashed, that too for a film like Wajah Tum Ho. After the song was out, even its singer Arijit Singh was not happy and had shared his anger in a Facebook post. In fact, the voice does not sound like Arijit at all.
Song sans soul
Dheere Dheere
The hit soulful number Dheere Dheere Se Meri Zindagi Mein Aana from Aashiqui was remixed by Honey Singh and was released as a music video. The video featured Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor, but got badly trolled because the essence of the original was lost.
