Luke Perry, popular for his roles in series such as Beverly Hills 90210 and Riverdale, passed away on Monday post a massive stroke last Wednesday. Perry’s representative Arnold Robinson issued a statement that read, “Perry was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancée Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family members and friends. The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time.”
Last week, Perry was rushed to the hospital after emergency services received a call asking for paramedics to be sent to his Sherman Oaks, California home. Prior to his stroke, Perry was said to be experiencing ‘bad back problems’, which had to be surgically fixed. Perry’s last major health scare was in 2015, when precancerous growths were found in his body following a colonoscopy, prompting the actor to speak out about checking for colorectal cancer. May his soul rest in peace.
