Rishi Kapoor remembered his uncle Shammi Kapoor on the eve of the latters death anniversary, saying that there has been "never a star like him!" 

Sharing a throwback still from Shammi's iconic number ‘Chahe koi mujhe junglee kahe’, Rishi tweeted: "Remembering Shammi Kapoor. Left us 14th August 2011. Never a star like him!"

 Shammi Kapoor, son of Prithviraj Kapoor, was born in 1931. He made his Bollywood debut in 1953 with the film ‘Jeewan Jyoti’. 

Shammi is fondly referred to as India's Elvis Presley and is widely remembered for his numerous superhit movies including ‘Junglee’, ‘Kashmir Ki Kali’, ‘Brahmachari’, ‘An Evening In Paris’ and ‘Teesri Manzil’.

He was last seen in the 2011 movie ‘Rockstar’, which released three months after his death. The film featured him alongside Rishi Kapoor's son Ranbir Kapoor.

On August 14, 2011, Shammi Kapoor breathed his last in Mumbai due to chronic renal failure. He was 79.

Rishi Kapoor was last seen in the movie ‘Jhootha Kahin Ka’, which released in July this year. The actor is currently undergoing treatment for cancer in New York and is expected to return home soon. — IANS
