One of the most detailed films on the Kargil War was LOC Kargil. Directed by JP Dutta, the film had a duration of four hours and fifteen minutes. The heart-touching movie showcased struggles of Indian soldiers at Kargil and their efforts to bring down the Pakistani intruders. Cast of the film included Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty and Saif Ali Khan, among others.

Turning Point at Tololing
Turning Point at Tololing is a documentary by Major General GD Bakshi, who was awarded Vishisht Seva Medal for bravely commanding a battalion during the Kargil war. Tololing peak overlooks the strategic Srinagar-Leh highway, so recapturing it was a major turning point, which eventually ensured India’s victory.

Prisoners of War – P.O.W.
Directed by Nikkhil Advani, Prisoners of War - P.O.W. is a television series on India in a post-Kargil scenario. The story of the show revolves around two soldiers who were captured by Pakistani forces on the Line of Control during the Kargil conflict, their struggle and how they made an escape back to India.

Hrithik Roshan-starrer Lakshya was based on the theme of how a person is transformed from a careless boy to a responsible man once he enters the Army. This Farhan Akhtar-directorial is a wonderful tale about a boy accepting his responsibility and helping the Army win the crucial Kargil war.

Tango Charlie
Tango Charlie, starring Ajay Devgn and Bobby Deol, has different war sequences, which track the journey of a police recruit. Directed by Mani Shankar, the last section of the film is based on the 1999 Kargil war.

Mausam
Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor-starrer Mausam was a love story in the backdrop of Kargil war. Directed by Pankaj Kapur, Shahid plays the role of an Indian Air Force (IAF) officer, who is called for the war just before his engagement.
