What made you say yes to a historical TV show?

The role of King Gohil is quite grand and strong in appearance. He is fearless and, in a way, intimidates people around him. I found a lot of similarities between the character and my personality, which actually was the reason for me to give a nod to this role.

Describe your character.

I am playing a negative character and out of the many negative roles, this is probably the best one as I have never played a negative shade like this before. King Gohil was known to have a twisted mind and that is something I feel the audiences will love.

We hear you have been trained with WWE. Did it help with the role?

I was already with WWE at their performance centre in the US and during that time I went through the best training for my physical fitness. I was mostly working on my stamina and strength, so I feel that the timing was just perfect for this character. So, for the show, there was no extra training required.

How difficult was it to get the diction right for the role?

Honestly, a lot of dialogues were quite simple and easy to speak as those were in simple Hindi language. In comparison to my earlier shows, the language in this one is much simpler and easy to comprehend. There are a few words which I struggled with, but it has been a smooth ride otherwise. No doubt, it is an important character and shows for me. I am grateful to all my fans for supporting me big time.

Is there anything in particular that you are obsessed about?

I am obsessed with cleanliness. I like things to be prim and proper.

Please share some details about your Bollywood debut.

In Brahamastra, I am playing a negative role. I am really very lucky to share screen space with Big B, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. I am very happy about the project andhopeful that the audiences will like my work in the film.
