Movie making is a team work. Its success or failure depends upon lots of factors, including its cast. Besides the lead actors, year 2018 saw some amazing supporting actors who caught everyone’s attention with their sheer performance. Let’s take a look at some of these scene stealers of 2018:
RAW talent
Jaideep Ahlawat
Jaideep Ahlawat, who played Shahid Khan in Gangs of Wasseypur, was seen in Raazi this year. He played the role of a RAW agent who trains Alia Bhatt to be a spy. Jaideep’s rough and tough character surely stands out in the film. While Alia truly gave an award-winning performance, it was also Jaideep who left the audience in awe of.
Completely natural
Neena Gupta
This year veteran actress Neena Gupta was seen in Mulk and Badhaai Ho. While Mulk was a Taapsee Pannu and Rishi Kapoor film, Neena was a screen stealer in Badhaai Ho. Her performance as an embarrassed mother of grown up kids getting pregnant at an old age, was enjoyed a lot by viewers. Even the emotional angle she played with her mother-in-law was natural and real.
Intense love
Richa Chadha
Richa Chadha, who will soon be seen in Shakeela biopic, played the character of Madhuri in the Love Sonia this year. The actress stole the show as a girl who is entrapped in a sex racket and suffers from a deadly disease. She was outstanding in most of the scenes and even walked away with an outstanding achievement award at the London Film Festival for her role in Love Sonia.
Pun intended
Pankaj Tripathi
Kaleen Bhaiyya, from the recently released web series Mirzapur, Pankaj Tripathi always has some surprises up his sleeves for the audience. His character of Rudra in Stree cannot be missed. Delivering those one liners with that cute funny face, the actor made sure he brings smile on the faces of audience.
Standing alone but tall
Sumeet Vyas
Sumeet Vyas made it big this year with Veere Di Wedding for being cast as the love interest of Kareena Kapoor Khan. Interestingly, he was the only male lead cast in all-female film that had Kareena, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania. Even been surrounded by such brilliant actors, Sumeet was successful to be a true scene stealer each time he came on screen.
A worthy wife
Rasika Dugal
Rasika Dugal, who was recently seen playing Safiya in Nandita Das’ Manto, was brilliant and at par with her onscreen husband Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Rasika is a brilliant actress with a theatre background that ultimately helped her to match up with the talented Nawaz in many scenes. Much like Nawazuddin, Rasika too received praise for her acting in the film.
