When girls from the region make their place in the film industry, they sure inspire many others. Winsome Jessica Khurana is one such example from Ludhiana, who was recently awarded the prestigious title, The Youngest and Most Talented Writer of the Year-2019, at the Golden Glory Awards.

Though she has been into writing since childhood, Jessica never thought it would become her calling. She tried initially to follow her mother, who is a designer.

While trying to find her place in the fashion world, she kept penning down her thoughts.  Her career as scriptwriter kick-started with Sony’s series, Peshwa Baji Rao and Star Plus’ Koi Laut Aya. She later assisted Vikram Bhatt for films like Dil Sambhal Ja and 1921. After that Jessica wrote independent stories for Hadh and now she is into her 13th show with Balaji Flms.

Jessica looks back and tells us that she owes her stability in this showbiz world to Karan Kundra, who helped her at every step. “I had no Godfather in the industry, but I just went about doing my work and talent was recognised. I must add here that the people in this city are extremely helpful.”
