Lauded for her powerhouse performances in Tanu Weds Manu, Raanjhanaa, Nil Battey Sannata and most recently Anaarkali of Aarah, Swara Bhaskar has established herself as one of the most bankable actresses of Bollywood.

Known to experiment with her skills set, the actress has earned a reputation for being an all-rounder. Swara recently watched the Telugu version of Baahubali2 and resolved to learn the language.

Talking about her urge to learn Telugu, the versatile actress says, “My dad is from Andhra, so I’m half Telugu. However, since, we lived in Delhi, we never spoke the language at home and I couldn’t pick it up well. It was a shortcoming that I used to feel bad about.”

Elaborating on her renewed motive to learn the language, she adds, “I always had a desire to learn, as the language is a part of my cultural heritage. The obsession for the film acted as a catalyst.”

On being asked about whether she would dive into Telugu cinema, the actress quotes, “Well, I think now I will actively pursue the same. Though I’ve not got any offers for regional films till now, I’d never turn down a film for its language. I’d take it as a challenge and opportunity and learn new things.”
