After writing a super-hit song, Ishqan De Lekhe, Manwinder Mann will come up with the lyrics of a song, Gabru Badaam Wagra, which has also been sung by Sajjan Adeeb.

The song, Ishqan De Lekhe, has been viewed over 30 million times on YouTube. Talking about the song, Mann said, “After penning down the song, I shared a clip of the song sung by Sajjan Adeeb on Facebook on February 15, 2016, at night. In the morning when I checked my account, I saw a number of notifications. I received an overwhelming response as people appreciated the lyrics of my song. Thereafter, I was approached by music companies.”

Besides, Mann has written the lyrics of Aa Chak Challa, Rang Di Gulabi and Cheta Tera. These songs also received a good response.

Mann, who is currently doing PhD in economics from Punjabi University, was inspired by the writings of Rajab Ali Khan, an Indian classical vocalist.

“I used to listen to the poems of Rajab Ali Khan and my father used to recite his poems. It affected me more when I took admission to Government Rajindra College in Bathinda. I used to read books written by him and thereafter, I started reading Punjabi literature,” said 27-year-old Mann.

He said the struggle during his childhood days made him stronger and was ready to work hard in the Punjabi music industry.

“I have seen a lot of ups and downs in my personal life. My aim is to play a long innings in the industry.”
