Personal computer came in at eleven, introduction to hacking at twelve, first book on hacking at fourteen. For Ankit Fadia, leveraging technology assumed an altogether different perspective. It is not to make life better; it is to change lives forever.

Today he stands proud as a blogger, Youtuber, ethical hacker, author of 18 books, and lately as the brand ambassador for Digital India Initiative. “I came out with my first book at the age of 14-and-a-half and each year I come up with one book at least, but this time it developed into a series,” he talks about his latest, a three-book series, while in Chandigarh at the Capital Book Depot. Stretch Your Technology—Protect, Productivity and Email is a result of the umpteen questions faced by any tech guru. “Each one of us has a smart phone but many hardly go beyond the usual what’s app, email and regular applications. This series is meant to educate the readers on how to protect their phones and derive maximum benefits out of them.” He adds, “For instance, how to cancel an email during first 30 seconds, how to send a self-destructing email, how to encrypt your conversation...”

Favourite apps

Google Keep: “In this you have to-do lists and reminders. For instance if there is a restaurant in Delhi, the next time I am there this application will remind me.

Red Phone: “It allows me to make secure phone calls.”

Mobile Spy: “To play pranks on friends sometimes; it gives me access to their mobile activities.”

World of fiction

Coming up is a first-ever fiction book. “I want to do a good job so I enrolled myself for a creative writing course at Stanford University.” He adds, “The plot revolves around three friends who go to a casino in Goa and get into some sort of trouble. It is about how they use technology to get out of it.” Well, that sounds like a Hollywood rip-off!
