The Punjabi film industry might be flirting with different genres and subjects, but by no means is it leaving behind its first love—comedy! The maker of Laavaan Phere, Carry On Jatta 2 and Vadhayiyaan Ji Vadhayiyaan, director Smeep Kang is all set to direct another comic flick, Band Vaaje. The film will be produced under the banner of Shah An Shah Pictures, whose producers are renowned music composer and producer Jatinder Shah and Pooja Gujral, who is known for her successful association with Bollywood actors Ajay Devgan and Kumar Mangat and has worked on the films like Omkara, Drishyam, Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge, Kapoor & Sons, Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya among many others.

The star cast of the film Band Vaaje includes Binnu Dhillon, Mandy Takhar, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Jaswinder Bhalla. The story and screenplay of the film has been written by Vaibhav Suman and Shreya Srivastava, the dialogues have been written by Rakesh Dhawan. At the announcement of the film actor Binnu Dhillon and Mandy Takhar, along with Jatinder, Pooja and Smeep Kang, share that the film’s shooting will begin from October 23 and is scheduled to be released on March 15.

“We can’t reveal much about the story of the film at this moment but it is going to be a bag full of entertaining punches and jokes,” said Smeep. “I believe that filmmaking is an art and there is unlimited scope for experiment and innovation in it. This film will be shot in UK.”

The lead actress, Mandy Takhar, shared, “There’s so much stress in the world, cinema must entertain people. I had done many serious films in the past; a comedy was on the list. I am sure the audience will surely appreciate my performance in this film”.

Jatinder Shah and Pooja Gujral, said, “This is our second film after Nankana, which featured Gurdas Maan, under our production and this is a wedding film”.

The music of the film will be prepared by Jatinder Shah.
