A pleasing daughter

Vidya Balan recently left everyone in awe when she revealed the first look of her upcoming film Shakuntala Devi - Human Computer. The actress looked like an image of the great mathematician. Now, on Sunday, celebrating Daughter’s Day, the makers announced that Sanya Malhotra has been roped-in the film as Vidya’s on-screen daughter. Sanya will be essaying the pivotal role of Anupama Banerji, daughter of Shakuntala Devi.

Says Sanya, “Everyone knows the achievements of Shakuntala Devi. I’m happy for this chance to with Vidya Balan.” 

Director Anu Menon added, “I can’t think of a better person than Sanya to capture the love of a daughter for her mother. Sanya instinctively understood the character and her journey - and I can’t wait to start shooting with her. I think the audience will fall in love with both Sanya’s and Vidya’s characters.”
