Sanjay Kapoor is back

Actor Sanjay Kapoor, who was last seen in the movie Shandaar with Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, is all set to comeback on television with Star Plus’s upcoming show Ishq Gunaah. The show will see the 55-year-old as the lead actor. It also stars actress Niki Walia, Smriti Kalra, Ashim Gulati, among many other noted actors. Ishq Gunaah is the remake of a Turkish show Ask-I-Memnu. In the show, Sanjay will be showcasing the character of Anant Mathur, who falls in love with a younger girl.

Sanjay shares, “There is a reason why it took me so long to do a TV show again. Television is a woman-centric medium and I was not really interested in the saas-bahu saga. I wanted something that would give substantial work to both the men and women in the show. Also, the earlier show that I did was almost like a film. It had Karisma Kapoor, Arbaaz Khan and Arshad Warsi.”
