Having held marriage as per Hindu rituals in the early hours today, star comedian Kapil Sharma and his bride Ginni Chatrath also took their vows as per the Sikh tradition.

Family sources shared that the Hindu wedding rituals lasted till 5.30 am after which the family reached Ginni’s home at Hardev Nagar where Anand Karaj too were performed around 7 am. Ginni hails from a Sikh family in Jalandhar.

Even as no Bollywood celebrity other than director brothers Abbas-Mastan made it to the wedding last evening, the marriage function was enlivened by with the performance of Gurdas Maan who sang ‘Dil da mamla hai’ and ‘Jugni’ on stage in jugalbandi with Sardool Sikandar and other singers, including Ranjit Bawa, Malkiat Singh and Jasbir Jassi and comedian Gurpreet Ghuggi, joined from near the stage humming and dancing to the Punjabi beats.

Even Kapil and Ginni came near the stage and danced.

The duo made an entry into the wedding venue at 12.10 am, keeping the guests waiting for long. While the groom came dressed in mehndi-colour sherwani with golden intricate weaving and while self pyjami, the bride complimented him in red and golden lehnga.

Ginni chose to wear mehndi-colour jewellery to go with Kapil's sherwani and contrast with her own dress. She wore a big nose ring, maatha patti, heavy kundan earrings and long kaleere with her red choora.

Kapil wore a light golden colour turban, which had three big pieces of kundan jewellery on it for embellishment on a side instead of a single kalgi in the centre.

Kapil looked little different in a bearded face. Seeming little nervous unlike his rather a very usual overconfident style, he could not make any poses with the bride as demanded by the lensmen. He did not speak out much or answer any queries. On being quizzed about honeymoon destination, he said, "Let me first get married".

Among guests who turned up at the occasion were ministers Navjot S Sidhu, who featured in his show Comedy Nights with Kapil, OP Soni and Sukhjinder Randhawa. Kapil’s friend from comedy show Bharti Singh, Simona Chaturvedi and Krushna Abhishek too got themselves clicked at the wedding.

Kapil’s fans remained disappointed as they kept waiting to watch his marriage function on his Youtube channel. He had even got released two promos on his channel Kapil Sharma K9 with tagline ‘Poore India ko aana hai’ but nothing came on it till this noon.
