Vidya Balan is all set to play the mathematics wizard Shakuntala Devi in Anu Menon’s upcoming biopic. Reportedly, Bengali actor Jisshu Sengupta, has been cast in the role of her husband. Jisshu was earlier seen in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Shares a source, “Jisshu will play Shakuntala’s husband Paritosh Banerji. Since he hails from Kolkata, the makers found the actor perfect for the role.”

Paritosh, who was an IAS officer from Kolkata, and Shakuntala were married in the mid-1960s when she returned to India from London. They separated in 1979.
