Inspired by real life!
Playing House is set to roll on a fresh season of the series. The show features real-life best friends Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair as co-creators and stars of the series. Reportedly, their relationship deepened after St. Clair was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2015. Parham was by St. Clair and her husband’s side through the entire process.
During the 12 weeks of radiation that followed, Clair and Parham began work on the third season of Playing House, which will have St. Clair’s character, Emma, receiving a similar cancer diagnosis and Parham’s character, Lennon, fighting every step of it by her side. The new season is inspired by their real life experience. “There was a lot of crying in the writers’ room. But also a lot of laughter — just like there was in real life” says St. Clair.
