Meet Sehmat
After giving fabulous performance in movies like Udta Punjab, Highway and Dear Zindagi, Alia is back once again with Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi. She is undoubtedly one of the most promising actresses in B-town today and she has proved this yet again in Raazi.
In the trailer we see Alia as Sehmat, a Kashmiri girl who is recruited by the Research and Analysis Wing to gather intelligence about Pakistan’s plans for the war. Encouraged by her father, Sehmat marries a member of Pakistani Army which is played by Vicky Kaushal.
Alia aka Sehmat is seen getting trained in surveillance and self-defence, skills that she will need as she steps into a hostile environment. Makers have released three posters of Raazi, which show three distinct sides of the character that Alia plays – a daughter, a wife and a spy. The movie is an official adaptation of Harinder S Sikka’s 2008 novel Calling Sehmat and is set to release on May 11.
