Of rumours and real life inspiration

Tanuj Virwani plays a young cricketer in Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s web series, Inside Edge. The character, a ladies’ man, is reportedly based on Yuvraj Singh.  First there were a couple of intimate scenes between Vivek Oberoi and Richa Chadha that sparked a controversy. Now it is being said that  Richa’s character is based on Preity Zinta even though the series director Karan Anshuman has denied any similarities. The storyline is that Richa Chadha is the owner of the team that Tanuj Virwani belongs to. Tanuj’s character’s name is Vayu, similar to Yuvraj’s pet name, Yuvi. Tanuj, who is seen having sex with a cheerleader on the show, is said to be a ladies’ man. Inside Edge will stream on Amazon Prime Video.
