On a different PITCH

Cricketer Irfan Pathan is all set to make his acting debut, however, it’s not a Hindi film! Irfan will be seen in Ajay Gnanamuthu’s upcoming Tamil film with Vikram. The film is tentatively titled Vikram 58 and will be produced by Lalith Kumar’s Seven Screen Studio. This is Ajay Gnanamuthu’s third film after Demonte Colony and Imaikka Nodigal. 

As we all know, Irfan Pathan has a Chennai connect. He has played for IPL team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and has a great fan-following down south. We hear that the film has already gone on the floors and the shoot had begun earlier this month. The film will have music by AR Rahman, cinematography by Sivakumar Vijayan and art by Amaran. 

Harbhajan’s screen debut too 

After Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan, it is now the turn of his former teammate Harbhajan Singh to make his cinema debut, once again from Tamil. The ‘turbanator’ will star along popular actor Santhanam in his next flick Dickiloona, the makers of the film said in a release on Tuesday.

“Harbhajan Singh is enacting in a very important character in the film where Santhanam is featured in three roles,” it said.  Meanwhile, Singh tweeted in Tamil to thank the producers of roping him in for the film. PTI
