Semolina cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup semolina
  • 1 cup curd
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp fruit salt

For tempering

  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • ½ green capsicum (thinly sliced)
  • ½ yellow capsicum (thinly sliced)
  • ½ red capsicum (thinly sliced)
  • 10-15 curry leaves
  • 3-4 green chillies

Method

  • Take semolina in a bowl. Now, add curd to it and mix well.
  • Keep it aside for 15-20 minute.
  • Now add water to make a batter of pouring consistency.
  • Add fruit salt to the batter and pour it in a greased cake tin.
  • Now steam it for 10-15 minute or until done.
  • Transfer it to a serving dish.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and sauté.
  • Add sliced capsicum and sauté for 1-2 minute. 
  • Add curry leaves and green chilli and mix well.
  • Pour and spread it over the cake.
  • Cut into slices and serve with tomato ketchup or mint chutney.
