Are you a devotee of Sai Baba?
Like my character Das Ganu Maharaj, I was going in different directions but then this show came to me and it changed my life in a very positive way. My entire family is a believer of Sai and I also make it a point to visit Sai Baba temple every Thursday. I consider this show as Sai’s blessing, which in real life did not deviate me from my passion.
How is it working with Tushar Dalvi?
I have admired Tushar Dalvi’s work since a long time. Working with him is an opportunity for me. I am sure I would get to learn a lot from him not only as an actor but also as a human being.
You are playing the role of a person, who was fond of music. What did you do to prepare for this role?
Though I know music, singing has never been my cup of tea. To prepare for the role, I took help of my music director friend. He taught me a lot about music, explaining me the details.
How did you adapt to the historical dialect of the show?
The language of the show is quite different from what we speak in our daily life. It was a mix of Hindi, Sanskrit and Urdu. I am trying to adjust to it by practising it throughout.
What makes this role different from the previous roles you have played?
This is my first historical show and the role is entirely different, be it the body language, dialect or settings. Also, I have never played a character before, who is associated with music to such a great extent.
In your hectic shooting schedule, what are the little things you do to maintain a healthy life?
If you take care of little things in your routine, you can achieve your goal of having a healthy mind and body. I pay great attention to my eating and drinking habits. While shooting for Mere Sai, whenever I get time between the shots, I manage to do a little work-out session in my makeup room itself.
