Guru gyan: Salman Khan

Salman Khan, who was once embroiled in hit-and-run case, took to social media earlier this year and warned youngsters about reckless driving. Twitterati had a field day and started posting some really hilarious posts. One of these posts read, “Salman Khan lecturing on ‘road rage’ is like Vijay Mallya giving a TED talk on ‘how to repay your debts on time’.

Wrong example: Rishi Kapoor

Rishi Kapoor’s tweet during Women’s World Cup final was met with widespread disdain. He had tweeted, “Waiting for a repeat of Sourav Ganguly’s act on the balcony of The Lords Ground, London, when India beat England 2002 NatWest series final! Yo.” Twitter people replied him with some sarcastic posts. One user wrote, “Sir women’s world cup hai. How can they repeat of Sourav Ganguly’s act?” While the other said, “Sir, Sunny Leone team main nahi hai.”

Life cycle: Varun Dhawan

Varun Dhawan received an e-challan earlier this month from Mumbai Police for taking picture with a fan in the middle of the road. Coincidentally, the actor bought a cycle just two days after the incident and posted his picture with his new mode of transport. And then Twitterati had a field day! Linking the actor’s cycle post with police challan, while one user wrote, “Car se seedha cycle sahi hai”, another joked, “Please wear a helmet before @MumbaiPolice send you another fine.”

Tent-trum Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra too was trolled this year. In fact, there were some really funny memes that did rounds on social media. She became the Meme Queen, all thanks to her Ralph and Lauren trench coat at Met Gala. Several funny jokes were made on her dress. One of the jokes was like – “Sunny Pa ji says ‘Apna luck pehenkar chalo’ but Priyanka says Poore gaon ka luck pehenkar chalo.

She too: Tisca Chopra

Tisca Chopra was trolled on her remarks on #MeToo movement. The actress had said that woman herself was responsible of being sexually assaulted. There were series of tweets who bashed her online. One of the tweets read, “This is the mentality that allows people in power to continue behaving however they please. Put some responsibility where it belongs.” 

At the receiving end Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor too was being targeted again and again on social media. She was body shamed and mercilessly trolled for wearing a black strapless bikini in the video posted by her Veere De Wedding co-star Swara Bhaskar. Later, she was trolled again when she expressed her shock after reading spiritual leader Ravi Shankar’s statement on homosexually. 

Green horn: Shraddha Kapoor 

Shraddha Kapoor was trolled when she tweeted Marilyn Monroe’s picture in a bikini with a message for  body shamers. She said even though Marilyn didn’t not have a toned belly and thighs , she is called the most beautiful woman. The actress was trolled for endorsing a ‘green tea’ brand asking the consumers to ‘reduce the belly fat’.

Animal instinct Taapsee Pannu

Taapsee Pannu was at the receiving end for more than once this year. She was first body shamed when she posted her pictures in a bikini. Second time was when she posted a picture of love birds in a cage. While one user wrote, “Animals have the right to freedom as much as humans”, another one called it a heartless picture since birds were inside the cage.”
