1,500 students showcase science models at ‘Jigyasa’

The brach of DAV Pubic School, Pakhowal Road, organised its annual science exhibition ‘Jigyasa-2017’.

Around 1500 students from classes III to XII participated to display their models. The entire school ambience buzzed with enthusiasm on the appointed day.

The theme of the event was science. The guests were welcomed by in-house robot ‘Sparko’. The students prepared a large variety of models (still and working) under the categories of health and well being, waste management, transportation and communication and energy conservation.

The astronomy section displayed the models and charts related to mangal yaan, astro photography, jantar mantar and comets. The participants painted tattoos related to celestial bodies on the arms of the visitors.

The ‘Magic Room’ creation by the students showcased 17 chemical magic tricks.

The biodiversity model representing the classification of all forms of life through clay modeling, recent advances in biotechnology, Bio Luminisance (extracted genes of firefly incorporated with tobacco plant that blinks at night) and cataract surgery model have really opened the recesses of inquisitiveness among the students.
