1,836 students appear for Veterinary Entrance Test

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) conducted the Veterinary Entrance Test (VET-2019) for admissions to their undergraduate programme of Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc and AH).

Narinder Singh Sharma, Controller of Examinations, said a total of 1,974 candidates had applied for admission to this course, of which 1,836 (93 per cent) candidates appeared for the entrance test at two centers, RS Model Senior Secondary School and BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar.

The test was conducted for 69 seats of BVSc and AH for the Ludhiana campus and 42 seats for the Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Amritsar. The result is likely to be declared in two to three days and would be available online at the university website (www.gadvasu.in).

Sushil Prabhakar, Registrar, stated that the first counselling for BVSc and AH was scheduled on July 22. He also informed that the date of applying for degree programmes in Bachelor of Fisheries Science (BFSc), BTech (Biotechnology) and BTech (Dairy Technology) has been extended to July 1 without late fee and July 8 with late fee. The candidates can apply for admission to these programmes through online (www.gadvasu.in) and offline (on paper application) modes.

There is no entrance test for admission to these courses. The admissions would be done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination of 10+2 from any recognised Indian board. The candidates from both, medical and non-medical streams, are eligible to get admission in BFSc, BTech (Dairy Tech) and BTech (Biotech) programmes. Besides, the number of seats in all these programs has also been increased.

The first counselling for 75 seats of BFSc, 50 of Btech (Biotechnology) and 75 of BTech (Dairy Technology) for the Ludhiana campus is scheduled on July 23 at the Silver Jubilee Auditorium, University Veterinary Hospital, Ludhiana.
