The police have arrested a 15-year-old boy for allegedly raping a one-year-old girl at Ayali Kalan. The accused boy was sent to a juvenile home.
Station House Officer, Sarabha Nagar police station, Madhu Bala said a case under Section 376 of the IPC had been registered against the boy on the statement of girl’s kin.
The victim’s mother said she had two daughters and they were living in a ‘vehra’ (a common place for migrants) in Ayali Kalan. The accused had also taken a room on rent at the same place. On Monday afternoon, when she was busy doing some household work, her father-in-law was playing with her daughter. The moment her father-in-law went to the market, the accused took the girl to a bathroom where he raped her.
“After committing the crime, the accused left my daughter in the room and fled. When I heard the cries of my daughter and went to check, I found her bleeding profusely. I immediately rushed her to a private hospital where the doctors confirmed that she was raped,” the victim’s mother alleged.
Orchestra dancer raped by impersonator
A 26-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man identified as Manoj Kumar Jaggi, alias Sumit, a resident of Mansura Wala Dona, Kapurthala. He reportedly posed himself as the Punjab police cop. The girl alleged that once she went to Amritsar for an orchestra performance, where she came in contact with the accused and exchanged phone numbers.
The accused also showed some fictitious I card of the Police Department to the girl to lure her.
She alleged that on the pretext of solemnising marriage with her, the accused developed physical relation with her by taking her to various hotels and other places. The victim alleged that the accused had also taken Rs 8.5 lakh from her on the pretext of arranging government jobs for her two brothers. Neither did the accused arranged jobs for her brothers nor he solemnised marriage with her. The police said the accused was already in the Hoshiarpur jail in some criminal case.
