Sehaj tasted victory in a state-level tournament when he secured third position in the Punjab State Badminton Championship in the U-13 category in 2014, followed by another bronze medal in the U-15 group in the Open Punjab State Badminton Tournament.

Besides, Sehaj gave an improved performance in the Junior Punjab Ranking Tournament held in Jalandhar in 2016 where he won a silver medal.

Sehaj attends coaching at the BCM Arya Sports Academy under the guidance of coaches Surinder and Chander Mohan. He owes his success to Anand Tiwari and Lakhwinder Singh, senior badminton players, who also guide him on how to improve his game.
