LUDHIANA: The Tibba police have nabbed five members of a gang of snatchers while they were planning to commit some crime from near an uninhabited house in Shankar Colony.

The Tibba police have nabbed five members of a gang of snatchers while they were planning to commit some crime from near an uninhabited house in Shankar Colony. Those arrested have been identified as Sandeep Narinder Singh, resident of Simranjeet Singh Nagar; Shubham of Banda Bahadur Colony, Lucky of New Subhash Nagar, Prince of Karamsar Colony and Sham Kumar of Indira Colony.

Sub-inspector Raj Kumar, CIA-2, said while on patrol duty on Saturday near Star City Colony on Gaushals Road, he received a tip-off that a group of habitual criminals, involved in several cases of snatching, were making plans to commit another crime somewhere, behind a garbage dump in the area. A raid was conducted and the suspects were apprehended. Their search yielded 21 mobile phones of different brands, three batteries, three sickles, two iron rods and one Passion motor cycle.

The police have registered a case under section 399/402 of the IPC.
