Ludhiana, March 14
Anamika Priya and Navdeep Singh, students of BEd second semester were declared best athletes among girls and boys, respectively in the 19th edition of the annual athletics meet of Partap College of Education on Thursday.
A large number of students, representing different houses namely Ravi, Beas, Sutlej, Chenab and Jhelum took part in various games, including track and field events, besides indoor and recreational games.
For her outstanding performance, Anamika Priya was awarded the “Jagbir Kaur Grewal Yaadgiri Sarvotam Khidari” award. Aishwarya, who studies in the fourth semester has been named the runner-up. Beas house was adjudged the best contingent.
Prof JP Singh, chairman, Partap Charitable Trust, unfurled the college flag and declared the meet open. Dr Ramesh Inder Kaur Bal, finance secretary of the college and Major Jagjit Singh Thandi, among others, were also present on the occasion.
Principal Dr Balwant Singh declared the meet close and thanked the chief guest for sparing time to visit the college and encourage the students and faculty. He appreciated the staff for organising the event successfully.
