Dairy Development and Animal Husbandry Department Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu on Tuesday conducted a surprise checking at the Veterinary Hospital in Khamano and Sanghol.
Sidhu spoke to a number of persons who came to the vet hospital with their pets. He asked them about the services being provided to them at the hospital and if they were satisfied or not.
Upon hearing good response and treatment by Dr Ranbir Sharma, the minister appreciated the doctor and appealed others to follow his footsteps.
Sidhu said doctors with good duty skills would be honored by the department.
He also warned of disciplinary action against doctors, who were not present on duty and whose work was not found to be satisfactory.
He directed all doctors of the vet hospitals to display mobile numbers of doctors on duty, helpline numbers of the Veterinary Department and available medicines on boards outside the hospitals and dispensaries.
He said the department would take steps to improve the working of dairy development and work for employment of youth.
Dr Ranbir Sharma said they had a target to treat 3,500 animals in the hospital, but they had already treated 5,035 animals during the last one year.
