Bank pensioners from various localities of the region announced to support only those candidates, who will accept their long pending demands.
The announcement was made during the concluding session of the meeting organised by All-Bank Pensioners’ Forum at MGMN Senior Secondary School here.
Sushil Kumar Nagar presided over the meeting held under the supervision of forum patron Amar Nath Verma and Darshan Singh Raheel from Punjab Bank Employees’ (retired) Association was the chief guest.
Convener Kedar Nath Kapila said bank pensioners from various localities falling under Fatehgarh Sahib, Ludhiana and Sangrur Lok Sabha constituencies were upset that successive governments had failed to accept and implement their long pending demands, including updating pension on terms of Central government employees and review of scale of family pension and medical insurance by parent bank.
Maintaining that the meeting was conducted in routine to discuss problems being faced by them, speakers including Raheel, Ashok Goyal, Kapila, Verma and Maninder Singh Bhatia said only those candidates would be supported during the elections, who assure to take up their issues in parliament on being elected.
