Facile victories for GNKC, Ramgarhia College eves

Guru Nanak Khalsa College (GNKC) for Women, Model Town, and Ramgarhia Girls College, Miller Ganj, scored facile victories over their opponents on the opening day of the Panjab University Inter-College Baseball Tournament being held at Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, here today.

In the first match, Ramgarhia Girls College routed Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector 11, Chandigarh, 19-0. The main contributors in the win were Poonam, Manisha and Kajal, who scored two runs each to help their side wrap up the issue easily.

The second match played between Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women and Bhag Singh Girls College, Abohar, too, turned out to be a one-sided affair in which the former came out victorious without being challenged 22-0.

Sharanjit Kaur, Sahalini, Sujata and Arshdeep Kaur accounted for three runs each while Sandeep Kaur, Jassi Kaur and Ramandeep Kaur chipped in with two runs each to stitch the victory.

Dr Mukti Gill, Principal of Khalsa College for Women, inaugurated the tournament.
