Basketball expert from US imparts skill training to 200 players

Scott William Flemming from the US, Senior Director Operations, NBA, India, was honoured by the Punjab Basketball Association (PBA) here on Wednesday.

The basketball maestro was felicitated during a function at the Guru Nanak Stadium. He was invited to the city by the PBA to share his expertise with budding players between the age group of 10 to 15 years.

Around 200 players (boys and girls) were benefited by the four-hour seven sessions daily. William taught them various skills to excel in the game.

Players of the Punjab Youth teams (boys and girls) also attended the training sessions by the expert. These players are currently attending coaching-cum-training camp to prepare for the upcoming Youth National Basketball Championship. The PBA distributed 100 basketballs among schoolchildren. Scott William expressed gratitude towards the PBA officials for their hospitality and hoped his training session held during the short visit would result in the development of the game in this region. — OC
