Ludhiana, November 27
The 62nd annual general body meeting of the Bharat Pensioners Samaj (BPS) was held at Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan here on Sunday. Delegates from different parts of the country attended the meeting.
Former chairman, IFA Canada, KR Gangadharan, was the chiefa guest on the occasion. The JCM general secretary, Shiv Gopal Mishra, Member Parliament Ravneet Singh Bittu and MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu were the guest of honours.
The, RPWA Ludhiana general secretary, Bhajnik Singh, said, “A draft resolution was presented before members during the meeting. We demand that benefit of court judgment should be extended on pension and service issues to all similarly placed persons.”
Members of the BPS also sought health care for pensioners. “We also demand extension of benefit of upgraded scale of past pensioners. The pensioners should be provided smart cards with all India validity and cashless indoor health care,” he added.
