Bike thieves held

Ludhiana: The police have arrested two bike lifters and recovered two stolen motorcycles from them. The accused are Manoj Kumar and Davinder Singh, both of Basant Nagar, Shimlapuri. The police have recovered two Hero Honda Splendor motorcycles (PB 10 DA 5618, PB 10 EN 4309) from the accused. The accused were arrested by a police team from Daba police station on Monday evening. According to the police, the accused were arrested from Lohara Chowk area, when they were going to sell the stolen motorcycles. Sub Inspector Jagjit Singh said they received a tip-off that two suspected bike lifters have been spotted near Lohara Chowk. “Following this, we carried out a raid and arrested both accused with the stolen motorcycles near Lohara Chowk. During initial questioning, the accused confessed to their crime of stealing motorcycles from different areas of Ludhiana,” the SI said. The police have registered a case against both accused under Sections 379 and 411 of the IPC at Daba police station and further probe was on. TNS
