BSNL employees want wages revised

Unions of non-executive and associations of executives of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) organised a protest in favour of their long-pending demands here on Friday.

The rally started from the BSNL main office at Bharat Nagar Chowk, which passed through Mall Road, Fountain Chowk, Ghumar Mandi, district courts, and culminated at the BSNL office.

Com Avtar Singh Jhande, district secretary, BSNLEU, said demands of their unions include the implementation of the 3rd pay revision with 15 per cent fitment, allotment of 4g spectrum to the BSNL, payment of pension contributions by the BSNL as per the government rules, settlement of the pending issues of the 2nd pay revision committee, approval of the BSNL land management policy without any delay, ensuring financial viability of the  BSNL and scrapping BSNL outsourcing for operation and maintenance of its mobile towers.

He said the three-day strike would be organised from February 18 to February 20 if their demands were not met.
