Calligraphy Competition

Ludhiana: Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana conducted an English calligraphy and handwriting competition in order to improve presentation skills and to inculcate the habit of good handwriting among students. The students from Class I to VIII participated in the competition with great enthusiasm and showed excellent creativity through their writing skills. The aim of the competition was to encourage the students to write neatly and present the content in a proper manner. In this competition, all students exhibited their writing skills in different forms of calligraphy like Old English, Humming Bird. The assessment was done by a selected panel of teachers on the basis of writing style, curves and patterns, legibility and beautification. This event was held in view of the changing ways of communication due to growing interest in computers. In the era of technology, handwriting skills have been forgotten these days. So to overcome these problems this competition is regularly done in the school premises.

Tributes paid to CRPF jawans

BCM School, Basant City, paid a tribute to the martyrs of Pulwama. Students and staff of BCM School, Basant City paid tribute to the martyrs of Pulwama attack. They lighted the candles in memories of brave heroes and observed a two-minute silence to pay the homage. During assembly, they prayed together to pay respect to the departed souls. A silent rally was also organised near the school area. Parents also participated in the rally, along with the students. Principal JP Singh expressed his deep condolences to the bereaved family members of martyrs and said any sort of violence and terror was against the progress of humanity. He added that the time had come to unite the peace loving community, against all kinds of terrorism.

U-19 Captain visits school

Nehal Wadhera, who has been recently selected as captain of Under-19 Cricket team of India today visited Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Park. He interacted with the budding cricketers of the school and shared his experiences about the game. Nehal, who hails from Ludhiana got coaching of cricket from Charanjeet, the cricket coach of NSPS, Gill Park. The school principal, Harmeet Kaur Waraich congratulated Nehal and his coach for the latest achievement.  Nehal is going to represent the Under-19 cricket team of India in the quadrangular series, which is going to kick off in the first week of March in Trivendrum . The Indian team will play matches with team of South Africa, Afganistan and India-B Harmeet Kaur Waraich wished him splendid success in the forthcoming matches. TNS
