Khanna: Gobindgarh Public College, Alour, in collaboration with the Alumni Association of the college, conducted a career counseling session for the students of Calss X and XII of various streams to help them choose a befitting career for themselves according their psycho-analytical abilities through a psychometric test.

The principal, Dr Neena Seth Pajni, highlighted the importance of selection of career through psychometric test rather than choosing a career through peer and parental pressure. More than 50 students appeared for this test. OC

PAU celebrates Earth Day

Ludhiana: The faculty and students of the departments of soil science, agronomy, and forestry and natural resources of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) celebrated World Earth Day under the ICAR NAHEP-CAAST project. The event was attended by the faculty, researchers and postgraduate students. The head of department of soil science, Dr OP Choudhary, highlighted the importance of the day and shed light on different ecological issues such as contamination of sea, debris left over land, environmental change and preservation of Earth’s biological communities.

Poetry analysis activity organised 

To encourage critical thinking among students, the English department of Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd, held a “critical analysis” of the poem, ‘To His Coy Mistress’. Students analysed the poem using different approaches. Amanpreet Kaur of MA-II won the competition.

Lecture on drone industry

CT University organised a guest lecture on “Pursuing Career in Drone Industry” in which Kanav Kumar, director of Better Drones, based in Greater Noida, interacted with the students. Kanav said: “Drone usage is not just limited to marriages or any random functions but it is way beyond that. Drone usage is a field that requires a large number of youth and is now a great platform for having a career in. Any passionate graduate with background from any discipline can train themselves for becoming a drone pilot.”
