IIM Ahmedabad on Friday released the final list of students who have been selected for admission in Post-Graduate Programme (PGP).

She said, “I am feeling on top of the world. To crack Common Admission Test (CAT) and getting a seat at IIM was my biggest dream which has come true. I owe my success to mentors and parents who constantly supported me throughout the exhaustive journey. I have converted calls of the IIM Ahmedabad and the IIM Calcutta.”

Kaur said, “The journey has not been easy at all. I balanced my regular studies with CAT preparations. Data Interpretation was my weakest area. With constant practice, I managed 99.73 percentile, the highest among other sectional scores.”

Sakshi Gupta, academic head of verbal ability at Bullseye said, “Jaspreet Kaur was the most diligent student in my class. The result is an eye-opener for students who believe that only engineering students can make it to top business schools. She being a commerce student has broken pre-conceived notion that boys are more adroit in maths. Hopefully she will be shortlisted for IIM-Bangalore which gives profile calls.”

Gupta further said, “She has received calls from IIMs, which is not the case with high percentilers with a low academic profile. IIMs factor in previous academic records, drop year, job experience and many other aspects before taking a final call.”

CAT preparation strategy

  • Be regular to classes
  • Attempt mock tests for devising a right strategy
  • Apply smart approach to attempt questions at the earliest
  • Develop a reading habit to sharpen analytical skills
  • Self study is a key to success
  • Read newspapers to stay updated on current affairs
