Thanks to a visit by Kaya Kalp team, the Civil Hospital was spic and span on Thursday.

Some of the employees were seen busy in last-minute preparations — cleaning windows and doors — before the visit. It was only a few days ago that plants were brought by the hospital authorities to beautify the surroundings. Cleanliness drive was in full swing at the hospital for a while. Window panes were cleaned and medicines trolleys and walls were painted.

The hospital was preparing for the visit for a few days now as the Kaya Kalp team was expected to inspect the hospital. Kaya Kalp is the scheme of the Central Government, under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, to promote cleanliness, hygiene and infection control practices at public healthcare centres. A cash award of Rs 50 lakh is given to be given to the winning hospital.

Amid all this, patients were happy about cleanliness activities in the hospital and wanted such visits to be arranged frequently.

“I was surprised to see so much cleanliness around the OPD and then I came to know that some inspection team is visiting the hospital. Such visits should be scheduled at regular intervals so that the hospital premises remain clean and tidy,” said one of the patients.

Senior Medical Officer Dr Geeta said they have been preparing for the day and only the best will win.
