Concerned over the detention of a teacher of the madrasa at Madani Jama Masjid by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) two days ago, the Muslim community today held a meeting at the mosque in Field Ganj. The motive of the meeting was to urge the NIA to clear air about the teacher's arrest.

Madani Masjid staff members deliberated on the issue of Mohd Ovesh Pasha's detention. They have decided to approach the government to at least enquire if Pasha was involved in any terror conspiracy or not.

“We have no objection to action by the NIA as its officers had said that Pasha was being taken for questioning in some case and he would be returned if not found guilty. Now three days have passed, neither the NIA nor any other official from the government is confirming the role of Pasha,” Sikandar, chairman of Madani Masjid, said.

The Madni Masjid staff said they had been daily receiving a large number of calls from Pasha's father but they had no answer. “We will try to approach the NIA official to enquire if Pasha has been named in a case or his role is yet to be verified. We are ready to provide all support to the NIA for any kind of information they want, but we only want clarity,” said the members.
