Daivik from Bajaj College wins 5 medals in swimming

Daivik Vashishta, a student of Bajaj College, Chaunkimann near here, brought glory to his alma mater, winning five medals in swimming during the three-day District-Level (U-25) Games organised by the Punjab Sports Department from August 6 to 8.

These games were held in 17 sports disciplines to commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev under the Tandrust Punjab Mission in which around 1,000 participants vied for top honours.

Daivik, a student of BBA II, annexed five medals — one gold, two silver and two bronze medal — in these games. He bagged gold medal in the 50-m backstroke event in addition to two silver medals in 50-m breaststroke and 4x100-m medley relay.

Daivik also finished among medal winners in two other events when he secured third position in the 50-m freestyle and 4x100-m freestyle relay.

In addition to this achievement, Daivik performed exceedingly well in the CBSE Cluster and Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex Tournaments during the last three years. He won eight medals in these competitions that included two gold, four silver and two bronze medals.
