Remaining high on fashion, the city is quick in adopting new fashion trends. Residents like to march along with fashion that rules the national and international market.

City-based fashion designer Sonu Gandhi predicts darker shades to make waves in the coming year. “We have already moved towards darker palettes and in the coming year, shades of blue and green will rule the fashion scene. Teal blue is the colour, which will be really in for the coming year. As far as pastel shades are concerned, lavender will steal the show. One piece dresses will still rule and focus will be more on styling and cuts and less on work and embroideries,” said Gandhi.

Talking about men’s fashion, Gaurav Arora who styles and designs for Bombay Store, says pastels will be in for shirts, while blue and white will be ruling for men’s shirts. For trousers, khakhi, navy blue and black will be in. In formal wear, Indo-western wear will be preferred by men, while Pathani suit in black and blue will always remain on the fashion scene.”

Sunil Raj Vinayak, another city-based fashion designer, who is currently working on New York Fashion Week, says royal blue will dominate the fashion scene. “Royal blue will be the colour of 2018. It will rule like the green ruled this year. Intricate Indian embroideries will no longer be preferred. Hot western couture will be making waves in the coming year,” said Vinayak.
