Ludhiana, July 5
The Punjab Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (PAMETI), PAU, Ludhiana, will start a one-year diploma in “Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers” (DAESI).
The diploma is sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, the Government of India, under the guidance of the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad.
Dr HS Dhaliwal, Director PAMETI, said the DAESI is meant for imparting practical and location-specific agricultural knowledge to agricultural input dealers so as to enable them to address day-to-day problems being faced by farmers at field level.
He said this course is open for practising agricultural input dealers and also for fresh candidates who want to pursue agricultural inputs business and candidates sponsored by input agencies, agribusiness companies, agri-cooperatives from Ludhiana and any other district within 40-km radius of the PAU.
Dr RK Kalra, facilitator (DAESI) said a total of 40 seats are available. It will be 48-week course with both classroom sessions, field visits and would be conducted only on Sundays and public holidays.
She said the course fee is Rs 10,000 per practising input dealer, Rs 20,000 for fresh candidates and is subsidised by the Central Government.
Applications duly completed in the prescribed format must reach the Office of Director PAMETI, PAU Campus, Ludhiana, on or before July 30. Further information can be availed from www.pameti.org.
