DMCH doctor is member of medical education body

Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina, Dean Academics, Professor of Gastroenterology, at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, and State Technical Advisor to United Nations (UNIDO), has been appointed as member of the National Board of Examinations, working under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina informed that the National Board of Examinations (NBE) was an autonomous (independent) body formed under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to improve the quality of medical education and standardise postgraduate medical education and examination in India. The postgraduate degree awarded by the National Board of Examinations is called the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) and is equivalent to MD or MS awarded by other recognised Indian universities.
In the past few years, competency-based education curriculum has been started by the Medical Council of India (MCI) for MBBS courses. According to Dr Chhina, all entrance tests for admission to medical PG courses are being conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE). — TNS
