Doraha, May 14
The Doraha police today beefed up the security arrangements and took out a flag march to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections.
SP Mukesh Kumar Sharma, along with Doraha SHO Karnail Singh, Payal SHO Manpreet Singh and Maloud SHO Gurdeep Singh asked the residents to ensure peace and tranquility in the town.
“Round the clock patrolling in the town shall be held by the police personnel till the culmination of the entire election process. Preventive measures are being taken by the police to maintain peace and security. The entire department and every official shall consider it an important part of his or her duty to keep strict vigil so that no anti-social element tries to indulge in any such act, which may prove detrimental to the interests of the country, the electoral process, voters and those engaged in the peaceful conduct of polls,” Doraha SHO Karnail Singh said.
The Police Department asked organisations, associations and social welfare clubs of the town to counsel residents and those having affinities with one or the other party to keep their calm and give space to each and every voter to exercise their right to vote.
Flag march at Khamano
Khamano: A flag march was taken out by the police at Khamano that passed through the Main Bazaar.
The march was led by Fatehgarh Sahib SP (O) Digvijay Kapil, Khamano DSP Dharampal and SHO Pawan Kumar. Paramilitary forces were a part of the flag march.
The SP and DSP said the march was a message to the bad elements and no one would be allowed to take law into their hands. The police will ensure fair and free elections in the area so that people may be able to cast their votes without any fear, they said. — OC
